Before casting the circle and creating the sacred space, gather any materials you may need for your magickal workings, including tools, herbs, drums etc. when everything you need is just where you want it, use your hand or athame to trace a circle desoil. As you move, recite something like the following while visualizing a glowing ball of protective energy surrounding you and your workings.

By the earth that is her body

The ever fertile land of night

By the air that is her breath

That begins the dawn of new daylight

By the fire of her spirit

That drives us ever toward noon

And by the water that is her soul

Until her dusk becomes our womb

In perfect love and perfect trust

With my hand this circle trace

Let all evil spirits flee

From the confines of this sacred space

So from before time to ever last

This sacred circle now is cast

After your magickal workings have come to and end. Release the circle and sacred space. A simple way to do this is to re trace the circle widdershins while reciting something like the following.

By widdershins I now erase

The confines of this sacred space

Earth be praised by moon and sun

My good work here now is done

So by the goddess who is three

As it is willed, so mote it be!
